The Parish Council has today received notification of land put forward by landowners in the Rayne Parish, during BDCs ‘Call for Sites’ exercise, earlier this year.
Please be assured that at this stage any land is a proposal only and is not in anyway a commitment to development at this time. Each site (Rayne has 11 proposals) that will need to go through rigorous policy & debate procedures at the District Council. Every site is assessed for its suitability, availability and achievability for development, before any land is included in the revised Local Plan, that will go to public consultation later this year.
Rayne Parish Council, along with our District Councillor Ann Hooks, will be requesting attendance to speak at the relevant Local Plan Sub Committee meetings, when land proposed in the Parish is discussed.
We are also working hard to gather comments on the suitability of each site, to send to the Local Authority so that they be included in the Officers reports. Please email the PC at rpc@rayne-essex.gov.uk if you have any comments on any of the sites and we can try to incorporate residents views. There is a very short timescale for us to do this so please email in before 16/8/24.
Residents will get the chance to have their say on the sites which finally get put forward in the reviewed Local Plan at a consultation later in the year.
The Local Plan review will be an agenda item at our next meeting of the Full Council on Monday 5th August 2024.
