We are updating the public as much as we can, through social media, with updates from relevant authorities. We appreciate that there are many people that are not on social media but we are endeavouring to find ways to communicate with the vulnerable, elderly and lonely residents in the Parish.

On this page we hope to bring a lot of the information received to us in one place.

Essex County Council

To get the latest updates from ECC please Click Here to access the Coronavirus Hub. This page has information on what you should do to stay safe, changes to services and how to get help in the community.

Essex County Council has set up a new service to help vulnerable people in our community who are staying at home and in need of support during the coronavirus period. The Essex Welfare Service is for people who are unable to access the support they need at this time.

Essex Welfare Service is specifically for those people who are not able to get any support from either family or friends or from their local district area support groups.

Essex Welfare Service is not an alternative to existing services which may be overwhelmed with extra demand resulting from the effects of Government’s stay at home advice. Click here to access the site

Essex Community Shield

Essex Community Shield is the countywide programme offering support to the elderly and most medically vulnerable in communities across the country.

The information below sets out the current level of response and what we are setting up locally to deal with this.

Mobilising Communities

For people that have received a letter from NHS (those with the most serious health conditions and registered with ECC as requiring emergency food parcels), there will be food distribution from the Essex County Council hub located in Witham. If they received this and did not register immediately and they now need assistance they should contact the Essex Welfare Service as set out below.

The NHS, via GP’s, will soon be contacting a further group of residents (those over 70, those with existing health conditions and pregnant women). The message will set out instructions to register with the Essex Welfare Service should they need support, including assistance with food if they do not have the support of friends, families and neighbours.
